What makes the CyclOn Pro Line different?
You’ve probably seen it already: the CyclOn Pro Line. A slightly different look from what you're used to from us. Instead of the familiar red and white, the Pro Line comes in a stylish black and gold design.
But what exactly is the Pro Line, and what makes it different from our regular products? In this blog, we explain.
The main difference isn’t about “good versus better”, but about who the products are developed for and what level of performance you’re looking for.
Regular CyclOn range vs. CyclOn Pro Line
The regular CyclOn range is developed for good and reliable everyday bike maintenance. Within this range, you can choose products such as Wax Lube, All Weather Lube, Dry Weather Lube or Wet Weather Lube based on your preferences and the conditions you ride in.
The CyclOn Pro Line takes things one step further and has been specifically developed with input from professional cycling. The products have been tested and fine-tuned with professional riders and mechanics, with a focus on the lowest possible friction, efficiency, a clean drivetrain and performance under demanding conditions.
| Regular CyclOn range | CyclOn Pro Line |
|---|---|
| For every cyclist | Designed for dedicated and performance-focused cyclists |
| Easy and reliable maintenance | Maximum performance |
| Choice based on weather and use | Optimised for low friction and efficiency |
| Wax, Dry, Wet & All Weather | Pro Chain Wax, Pro Chain Lube & Pro Chain Hot Wax |
| Bionet for regular chain cleaning | Pro Chain Stripper for thorough degreasing |
| Good price/performance ratio | Premium positioning |
Developed with input from the pros
The input from professional cycling teams during the development of the CyclOn Pro Line mainly consisted of real-world testing and feedback from both riders and mechanics. The products were tested, improved and fine-tuned over several months.
More specifically, their input focused on areas such as:
Friction and efficiency
The lubrication needed to create as little resistance as possible while keeping the drivetrain running smoothly. This is particularly evident in the Pro Chain Wax and Pro Chain Hot Wax, where extremely low friction was an explicit development goal.
Performance in different conditions
The products have been tested under real race conditions, including long rides and wet conditions. The Pro Chain Hot Wax, for example, was tested during demanding races and used on prepared chains during the Tour de France Femmes.
Pro Chain Hot Wax
High-performance hot wax for extremely low friction, long-lasting lubrication and a clean drivetrain.
VIEW PRODUCTLong-lasting lubrication
For a professional cycling team, it is important that a chain continues to perform throughout a long stage without requiring attention along the way. The formulas are therefore focused on long-lasting lubrication and reliability.
A clean drivetrain
Especially with wax products, minimal dirt adhesion is important. This not only keeps the chain cleaner, but also helps to limit wear on the chain and cassette.
Practical for professional mechanics
The Pro Chain Stripper, for example, was developed for intensive professional use, with high cleaning power, fast action and the option to use it in an ultrasonic cleaner.
Pro Chain Stripper
Powerful degreaser for thoroughly removing oil, wax and stubborn dirt.
VIEW PRODUCTBlack and gold: why the different look?
The distinctive black and gold packaging was deliberately chosen to make the Pro Line instantly recognisable as a premium range, separate from the familiar red and white of our regular products.
So you can tell at a glance: this is bike care at pro level.
